Hi! Welcome to my "dinning with dalandan" series where I feature diners, restaurants, and more that cater to your rice-frenzy needs at budget-friendly prices. As a college student that's always on-the-go, a place that serves a full meal from breakfast all the way to dinner is a need especially when you're out of time to prepare a good and hefty meal to sustain and boost your energy throughout the day. Well, look no further, because you're in luck! As part of my so-called adulting life, I'll be writing and photographing about places that cater to your craving needs, and best part they're all at budget-friendly with the best quality!

However, I'll be starting off my first post for my "Dining with Dalandan" series in an area a little outside of Davao, with a great scenic view of the fields, mountains, and bright blue skies and shinning sun! I proudly present to you: "Café sa Bukid", located in Lantapan, Malaybalay, Bukidnon. The trip took about six (6) hours traveling from our home in Davao all the way to Bukidnon but, it was definitely worth it! Along the way, especially when you are in the Buda area, you will see a lot of cafes, restaurants, bars, rest houses and more open to all passing travelers in the area. I'll definitely, make a separate blog to talk about "Chiru Café" and their delicious Japanese cuisine in a different post but, for now let's shine some light to this rural beauty of a café: "Café sa Bukid".

Who would have that a hidden gem like this would exist within the outskirts of the city? My dad found this place a little before we visited this as a family. He was on a trip with his co-workers when they stumbled upon this unique two-story bahay-kubo themed café built from wood and bamboo, offering passing travelers a taste of organic and locally grown food at family-friendly prices.

There is so much I want to talk about when it comes to "Café sa Bukid" because you really get your money's worth when you eat in this fine establishment. "Café sa Bukid" does not only offer good food and quality service, it provides you the opportunity to admire the beauty of nature from the growing green crops all the way to the large hills and mountains touching the clouds. The view is absolutely breathe-taking and we were very lucky enough to visit the place during a sunny weather. Normally, alfresco areas during sunny days are hot and humid but you will not be feeling an ounce of sweat in this place because of the cold wind blowing by the area. Overall, in terms of ambience it's a 10/10 for me as it is quiet, peaceful, and homey for friends and families alike.

As for their meals, budget-wise it is affordable yet the quality is top tier from the way it was made to the way it was presented and served to our table. I enjoyed skimming through their menu as they had a wide variety of meals you could choose to order such as salads, pasta, rice meals, burgers & sandwiches, caffeine & non-caffeinated drinks, as well as desserts. If you're curious about what we ordered, you can check out this short list below with their corresponding prices:

🤍 Italian Spaghetti with Meatballs - Php 195
🤍 Salisbury Steak - Php 185
🤍 Mango Passion - Php 70
🤍 Mulberry Juice - Php 95
🤍 Chocolate Pot De Crème - Php 145
🤍 Crème Brûlée with Strawberries - Php 125

Unfortunately the café does not sell carbonated drinks (such as coke, sprite, etc.) but, instead provides healthy and organic alternatives made from a variety of fruits that make you feel energized and refreshed! I definitely loved my experience with "Café sa Bukid" as it was one that is memorable, enjoyable, and relaxing. The trip is quite far but, when you get to the area, the time spent waiting and travelling would all be worth it once you get to taste their delicacies.

There is also a nearby and connected fruit and vegetable store to the right side of the "Café sa Bukid" that offers affordable and quality fruits and vegetables you can purchase and bring home to use and make into any desired dish. I would definitely recommend purchasing from them as the fruits and vegetables they offer are locally grown and healthy. The best part is the fruits and vegetables being sold are very affordable and worth the price!

Looking forward to seeing their business grow and can't wait to visit them again!
