Dining with Dalandan - Chiru Cafe

Chiru Cafe - [09/3/2022]

Hi! Welcome to my "dinning with dalandan" series where I feature diners, restaurants, and more that cater to your rice-frenzy needs at budget-friendly prices. As a college student that's always on-the-go, a place that serves a full meal from breakfast all the way to dinner is a need especially when you're out of time to prepare a good and hefty meal to sustain and boost your energy throughout the day. Well, look no further, because you're in luck! As part of my so-called adulting life, I'll be writing and photographing about places that cater to your craving needs, and best part they're all at budget-friendly with the best quality!

Wow! It's been a while since I last wrote in my blog. After weeks of being bombarded with school works and constantly facing the daily trials of life, I found some time to write about this neat café located in Buda that serves affordable and authentic Japanese cuisine. The area itself is cold and misty which gives off the peaceful and relaxing vibe that allows the customers of Chiru Café to enjoy their warm meals during their stay.

When my family visited the area, my dad introduced to us the place and we decided to give it a try because the place looks generally promising from its exterior all the way to its interior. The space inside the café is quite small but it is very warm and cozy. If you opt to dine outside, they also have outdoor dining available with a much larger space to cater more of their customers. Unfortunately, as it was raining during the time we visited the place, we opted to dine inside the café building.

Chiru Café, indoor and outdoor dining

Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted with a variety of Japanese dishes we could choose from their menu which were ranging from short drinks all the way to rice meals. Since we were traveling from Davao to Bukidnon to visit "Café sa Bukid"(which I wrote about in a separate blog post), we were in a rush to get moving to the next stop in our journey so we decided to order their ramen and Takoyaki.

I have visited a few Japanese-themed and inspired restaurants within Davao city and I definitely have biases when I eat out with my friends and family especially if we're taking about buffets or Japanese cuisine in general. Whenever, I eat in new places, I keep my food standards at a bare minimum because high expectations are a killer to the mood when the food doesn't pass the vibe check. However Chiru Café is an exception because not only did it exceed my expectations, it also satisfied our stomachs.

Chiru Cafe's Ramen and Takoyaki

The food they served was very delicious. It was warm and it had a lot of content that could easily make you full with just a few servings. Based from the places I have tried eating ramen from, Chiru Cafe's ramen definitely deserves to be at the top spot of my list because of its balanced savory and sweetness in one dish without allowing the other ingredients in the ramen to be too overwhelming that it loses its target flavor. Not to mention, their Takoyaki is shaped larger than the regular mall Takoyaki and had a lot of filling inside that the four-piece serving would be enough to fill your stomach.

The staff were very kind and accommodating during our entire stay in the café. In terms of services, they were very fast and punctual when serving the dishes so we were able to eat and enjoy the scenery before us and had enough time to get back on the road.

If given the opportunity I would visit the area again because there are a lot more meals I need to taste and test out for myself. The place is promising and I am excited to see this small business grow and earn more customers.
